Wind Power Cards
No, they are not trading cards. But they offer the cardholder vast power, in a very real sense. Wind Power Cards are being sold by Whole Foods Market, the US' top natural and organiclinks foods retailer, who have ingeniously conceived a way for consumers to help the US' emerging wind generating sector. How does it work? Consumers can buy cards worth $5 for individuals or $15 for households, which approximate the amount electricity average consumers pay per month (around 250 Kwh per person or 750 Kwh per household). The revenue collected from the sale of the cards will be used to market wind energy produced in the US. While the system does not induce energy savings, reduce electricity consumption, nor does it deliver wind energy to its consumers, the system nevertheless ensures that consumers support wind energy development and use.
