Vacation deals are abundant these days. Something about slow economic times; people tend to cut expenses on travel and vacations first.

If you can afford a vacation despite the hard economic times, the deals out there mean that you can good on for your money. So, as you shop around, keep this in mind: staying in a vacation home is greener than renting a hotel room

Are you concerned with your carbon footprint? A week in a hotel uses the energy of a month or more in a regular house. Most hotels are wasteful almost by design. Customer satisfaction is such a focus that no one things about the amount of laundry that gets down, or the cost of air conditioning and hot water.
