US Air Force Goes Solar
The US Military through the Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada will be the first renewable-energy enabled military installation. With a 15-megawatt photo-voltaic system, this facility will deliver 25% of the energy requirements of the base by the end of this year. It will support 12,000 military and civilian personnel and will be used as a showcase of commercial technology going military (instead of the other way around).
