Top Ten Renewable Energy US Cities
I love doing top tens! It's a great chance to completely run through the best and the worst members of a particular set of elements and its is my privilege to present to you, the Top Ten Renewable Energy Cities in the US of A. Cities are ranked by SustainLane Government based on the highest percentage of renewable energy contributions to the total energy requirement. Renewable energy comes from both industrial scale generation but also from residential/community-based systems which really means, the community keeps with the policies as designed by the local government.

So without further ado, here they are and their renewable energy shares.

10. Chicago, Illinois - 3%
9. Seattle, Washington - 3.5%
8. Minneapolis, Minnesota - 5%
7. Los Angeles, California - 5%
6. Austin, Texas - 6%
5. San Diego, California - 8%
4. Boston, Massachusetts - 8.6%
3. Portland, Oregon - 10%
2. Sacramento/San Francisco/San Jose California - 12%


And the big, big, big winner, Oakland, California with 17%!!!
