Tidal power is undergoing a stage of research and development similar to wind farm development 15 years ago and solar cell development a couple of decades back. A number of developments in tidal power development is reported by the New York Times in this article (Energy From the Restless Sea).
Various countries and institutions are reported to be dabbling on different technologies to harness tidal power with the approaches significantly veering away from the case of simply inverting "wind turbines". This should be an interesting development, one that we should keep track of. Do you agree?
