Rewarding The Consumer for Energy Efficiency
Filed in archive Energy Efficiency on February 27, 2007
I know this one for a fact. If you purchase energy-efficient home improvements or hybrid vehicles, you can claim tax credits for them at the end of the fiscal year. What is more helpful is the fact that you can claim fairly substantial amounts for just the things changed at home. The credit is normally 10% of the cost and normally can be claimed only once. And you also have to keep the credit instructions from the manufacturer's manuals because the IRS relies on that too for computation. For vehicles, go article by Eileen Putman.
Go the IRS Web page for a list of each qualifying vehicle and its available credit.
