A plant that uses renewable inputs and produces renewable outputs is what the XL Dairy Group Inc.'s self-contained bio-refinery is. The Arizona facility will produce ethanol, biodiesel, milk, and animal feed, and energy to run the entire plant starting next year, 2008. At $260 million, this facility will be a breakthrough facility having an energy efficiency of 10:1 (energy produced is ten times the input energy) and will become the first US biofuels activity in the US that will not be dependent on fossil fuels.
