China's foremost oil and gas firm has decided to go the alternative route. PetroChina has decided to look into alternative fuels such as coal bed methane, oil shale, biofuels, and eventually solar and wind to address high crude oil prices and dwindling domestic reserves, which was reported by PlanetArk.Org.
Although still a small department in the gigantic office of PetroChina, this step is a welcome and expected development. With China gobbling up oil and coal at fantastic rates, it wouldn't be long till they too feel the crunch. And PetroChina will be there with some, if not most of the answers.
