Pakistan To Expand Hydro Power Capacity

After receiving a loan from the Asian Development Bank, the Government of pakistan has set its sights on the development of medium sized hydropower plants in the North Western Frontier Province and the Punjab province. The development of small hydropower generating facilities in these countries was facilitated by the ADB to help change the energy mix of Pakistan and improve the present environmental conditions. With this development, an additional 75 MW will be established as well as the preparation of eight feasibility studies involving new sites for possible hydrological energy generation.
