Noiseless and More Efficient Wind Turbine

Filed in archive by Reden Rodriguez on July 27, 2006

Good things can only become better. Australia's O'Connor Wind Energy Pty Ltd has developed what is called the Hush Turbine, a wind turbine that is significantly advance in design.

Noiseless and More Efficient Wind Turbine
Unlike present wind turbines that are being set up at residential areas and are fast becoming eyesores and earaches to some residents, the Hush Turbine is a sleek, ultra-modern, noiseless wind turbine that can be set-up to complement existing power systems for homes. According to O'Connor, the Hush Turbine interfaces with existing systems including diesel engine back ups, which makes present residential set-ups still usable.

The Hush Turbine is available in various sizes with diameters ranging from one to five meterslinks. Depending on size, a turbine can produce anywhere from 5 to 6 kilowatt hours to 100 kilowatt hours per day, and operates at low wind conditions. The cost of a set-up is around six to seven thousand dollars ($6000-7000). A bit pricey but compared to conventional wind turbines or solar panels which produce significantly less power, the Hush Turbine is a better deal.

I have always been a fan of new or improved technology and the Hush Turbine is certainly one of the improved renewable energy devices that will catch on especially in many residential areas and off-grid locations. It's a perfect example of a stand-alone technology that renewable energy advocates would purchase, install, and operate with pride. If you are a fan of wind power and know of other developments, let me hear them!
