New Zealand Ups Renewable Energy Tempo

New Zealand is upping the tempo as far as renewable energies are concerned. Contact Energy, a New Zealand based gas company has invested $1.4 Billion in renewable energy resources, particularly a 260 MW geothermal plant and a 400 MW wind farm. Good news for New Zealand and very fortunate for Contact Energy, who has benefited from clear renewable energy guidelines that have been mandated by the government. See the point here? Big investments come in when the settings are made right. Hope we learn something.

It’s great to hear about any country taking a bigger step into the use of renewable energy. Geothermal power plants are the way to go, and if you can find many hot spots in and around New Zealand, then the country will benefit hugely from this introduction.

It seems that only when the private industry takes action then we see a progress and movement into alternative and renewable energy resources. At least we see that steps in the right direction starting to appear.
