New Solar Technology From Germany
Filed in archive Solar on November 30, 2006
There are current plans to produce solar modules based on non-silicon materials in Germany, according to this
report from Renewable Energy Access.
The report says that because of the shortage in silicon and the requirement of the industry to identify alternatives to conventional solar panel materials that are more cost competitive and energy efficient, Shell Erneuerbare Energien GmbH and Saint-Gobain Glass Deutschland GmbH, have joined forces to create AVANCIS - a new organization that will produce the next generation solar technology based on the Copper-Indium-Selenium technology developed by Shell.
This is a very exciting development which will serve a growing demand not just for Renewable energy, but also for renewable energy service providers.
