US chemical engineers from the Purdue University have discovered a new technology that will produce liquid fuels from biomass. This new technology involves adding hydrogen from a carbon-free energy resource during gasification, that suppresses the formation of carbon dioxide and increases the efficiency of the process resulting in three times the volume produced from the same amount of biomass. What a development! Imagine three times the volume from the same amount of feedstock! That would practically single-handedly address the food versus fuel issue, don't you think?
