Netherlands Takes on Wind Farms

The land where windmills became famous now takes windmills seriously, but for a different purpose. A $ 272 million offshore project was recently inaugurated in Egmond a an Zee, northwest of Amsterdam. With 36 turbines churning out a more than 100 MW of energy, this clearly is a statement for the country that wants to produce 9% of its electricity from renewables, come 2010.
