Low Cost Airfare Contributes High Levels of Carbon Dioxide

I thought that low airfare rates offered by those new and highly-flexible airlines were heaven sent. This article says that while they enable travellers cheap travelling rates, their environmental costs can be heavier.

What are your thoughts on this?
