Green Ski Resorts

I love simple logic. No snow, no ski resort. No ski resort to run, no business. No business, no money. Everything seems to depend on the presence of snow. And with the world-wide recognition of global climate change, everybody wants to go "green". And this is especially true of ski resorts in the US who want to contribute to mitigating GHG emissions and global warming effects. So they turn to wind power, which is what this article says.

This demonstrates a simple truth. That people who stand to benefit from a certain action will be early participants and implementors of that action. And these ski resort owners are not foolish at all to think that its not too late. So do your share and be a part of this growing global trend.

i think many ski resorts, especially bigger ones like Whistler, have jumped on the bandwagon. they’ve realized more than anyone how dependent they are on continous snowfall. perhaps as other industries start to notice how their businesses are affected by climate change, they’ll take larger steps.
