Germans Build the Waldpolenz Solar Park
The Waldpolenz Solar parklinks is roughly the size of 200 soccer fields placed side by side. But more than just two hundred arenas, it is the biggest solar power facility at a capacity of 40 MW. That's three times the size of the largest PV plant in the world which is about 12 MW. The Waldpolenz will be operational by 2009 and the builders believe that it will produce power at a discount to the tune of 20 to 40% than the going price in Germany. So Germany is the largest wind power user, will they be the largest solar power producer too?
