Fuel Cell Airplanes
Filed in archive Edge Technology on April 30, 2007
Boeing researchers will conduct experimental flight tests this year featuring a manned airplane that is powered only by a fuel cell and some batteries. According to this report, the plane will have a wing span of about 16 meters and will cruise at 100 kilometers per hour. Looks like Boeing is really looking ahead in terms of applying the benefits of emerging fuel cell technology for aerospace applications. This project, called the Fuel Cell Demonstrator Airplane shows just that.
Cant wait for the results of this milestone project!
