Environment Minister Opposes Solar Project
Israel is a truly unique country. It is the only country where the Environmental Protection Minister is opposing a major solar energy project. Gideon Ezra is opposing the Mishor Yamin solar energy project near Dimona.

Do not raise your arms out in protest yet because Mr. Ezra is protesting this for a good cause. The planned facility will be located in a protected arealinks that contains plant and animal species found only in Israel. And to his credit, Mr. Ezra has suggested alternate sites for the solar facility, which Israel also needs. And while there are many who oppose the Environment Minister's position, I think Mr. Ezra's decision to take the less-popular stand does speak volumes about his understanding of the environment.

Speak to me if I am wrong. Read the rest of the story here.
