Wind
by Greg Cruey on March 28, 2009
The commercial-industrial efforts to turn wind into energy for money seem to get a lot more attention than the smaller efforts to enable individual citizens to use wind energy as a means of opting out of the power grid altogether. So I found the Jellyfish Wind Appliance to be fascinating as a personal energy device.
Americans in particular seem dedicated to the idea that success in alternative energy is going to mean that citizens conserve energy and that large multi-national corporations find new ways to generate it. The model of China, where millions of citizens have built their own DIY solar water heater, seams lost on us.
