Established in 1980 at the University of Delaware, the Center for Energy & Environmental Policy (CEEP), "is a leading institution for interdisciplinary education, research, and advocacy in energy and environmental policy. http://ceep.udel.edu/energy/index.html
One of their many offerings is the Graduate Study in Energy Sustainability. This program includes course work in electricity policy and planning, solar electrical systems, political economy of the environment, sustainable energy development, and energy economics. Other programs include: Environmental Justice, Global Environments, and Political Ecology among other offerings.
The CEEP is not only college or university offering an energy-curriculum. The University of Kentucky Center for Applied Energy Research http://www.caer.uky.edu offers four major fields of study in energy research each with a wide selection courses.
Outside of offering courses in energy some colleges are contributing in other constructive ways. Appalachian State University has implemented a Renewable Energy Initiative. "The ASU Renewable Energy Initiative, a student-led referendum to create a fund for renewable energy projects on campus." The initiative passed a student vote with an 82% majority.
