China's Shi Zhengrong: a Rags to Riches Story

Most of us has gone through the striving student to striving worker phase and this was experienced by Shi Zhengrong, China's 7th richest man. But his luck and fortune did not come from an Earth-shattering discovery. Instead, Shi Zhengrong's success is attributed to his fantastic timing, by making his company Suntech Power Holdings Ltd., a solar equipment company publicly listed in the New York Stock Exchange. Once an ordinary fellow living and working in Australia, this 40-something physicist believed that striking in his homeland China would do well, since the market's appetite for renewable energy companies is currently insatiable. Since then, Shi Zhengrong has become a spokesperson for renewable energy development in China and more importantly, an inspiration to many striving men and women in and out of the renewable energy sector.
