, Vancouver: Sea Breeze Power Corp. is an energy company focused on tapping the wind potential on the coast of British Columbia through the development of large-scale wind farms and underwater electricity transmission lines. Historically, this is a new company, "The Sea Breeze Power Corp.," is the result of International Powerhouse Energy Corp. buying Sea Breeze Energy Inc. in 2003.
Presently, they have 13 projects in at various stages in the development process. Their Knob Hill Wind Farm, on the northern tip of Vancouver island, was the first project to be approved by the Environmental Assessment Office of British Columbia.
The Knob Hill project will consist of 66 wind turbines with a total installed generation capacity of 99 megawatts.
Part of the reason this company takes on wind energy for investment is as they state on their website:
"Wind power is the fastest growing energy sector worldwide. At the end of 2004, global wind power production approached 48,000 megawatts-this is four times BC's current ability to produce electricity. The World Energy Council has rated BC's wind resources as the best in the world. "
Seabreeze Power Corp. is publicly traded on the Toronto Stock Exchange Symbol - SBX . A quick check of money central showed that their stock was trading in the $0.40 range with a 52 week high of $1.01 and a 52 week low of $0.20.
