Blair Pushes for Nuclear Energy
Filed in archive Nuclear on November 13, 2006
United Kingdom Prime Minister Tony Blair said that Britain should lead Europe's Nuclear Energy development and use, as reported by Bloomberg in this article.
Mr. Blair added: ``At least half the European countries are thinking about the next stages of nuclear power. We have expertise in this area and we should develop it. Clean energy, Clean coal, renewables, and energy efficiency -- this is going to be a vast market.'' UK's Nuclear Reactors are due for replacement soon and this will provide Mr. Blair with an important factoid, together with UK's North Sea oil reserves depletion on whether or not the UK increases its nuclear power capacity.
