Australian Renewable Energy and Climate Change Frenzy
There seems to be going on in Australia very recently. Renewable energy and climate change projects from our mates from down under are coming out of the woodwork, including:

1. A $75 M grant for the development of a $420 M large-scale solar concentrator in NW Victoria and a $50 M grant for a the development of a $360 M brown-coal drying and CO2 capture and storage project. View the complete story here.

2. Here is one from South Queensland reporting on farmers rethinking the importance of retaining carbon in the soil.

3. Here the Australian Conservation Foundation acknowledges the development of renewable energy projects in Australia abut sees it as the first small steps to be taken by the federal government.

4. And finally a story about Prime Minister Howard saying that solar energy is limited (limited, say that again???).

Has Australia finally woken up to the realities of GHG reduction and the need for action today? Hope so...
