ANZ of Australia goes Carbon Neutral

ANZ is Australia's third largest bank and this year, it aims to reduce its environmental footfrint and become carbon-neutral by 2009. As in other organizations, the way to carbon-neutrality is through investments in renewable energy projects and improved administrative practices that lead to efficient energy use.

According to John McFarlane, ANZ CEO:

"…Although we know there will still be much to do in reducing ANZ's environmental footprint, creating a sustainable building which will stand on the world stage is an important step forward for ANZ, our people and for Melbourne…"

I know you hear about a corporation going carbon-neutral everyday but you have to admit, it is good news. Read more about the story here.
