An Eleven Billion US Dollar Solar Energy Market
Filed in archive Solar on October 31, 2006
Silicon Valley was the instrumental bastion of change in America and the world just a few years ago. Business Magazine reports that it is now on its second wave of disruptive change. Their target: The US electricity market.
The article reports a dozen Silicon Valley firms racing to get a piece of the $11 billion worldwide pie for solar energy, as the world races even faster to expandthe renewable energy economy and rid the planet of those dreaded green house gases. And the signs are everywhere in Silicon Valley, from venture capitalists putting in fortunes into solar start ups to old line tech companies joining the fray. Heck, even Google went out to put its own solar show, and they couldn't be that shallow into the game, could they?
So it's the gold rush again in Silicon Valley and this time, the sunshine really would be spread all around.
