A Sharp Cut In Solar Cell Cost
Sharp Corporation of Japan, the world's biggest manufacturer of solar cells said that the cost of generating solar power will decrease by half by 2010 and will be comparable to nuclear power generation costs by 2030.

Katsuhiko Machida, Sharp's president, said that by 2030, the cost of electricity generated from solar power will be similar to the cost of electricity from a nuclear plant, explicitly indicating the complete independence from fossil fuellinks use. Sharp's president believes that supply capacity will increase by an average of 5% per year and soon, the power from the Sun will be captured more effectively.
