2007: Year of the Polar Bear?
Filed in archive Current News on December 30, 2006
2007 may be the year of the Pig but it is the Polar Bear that will probably tip the scales and warm the ice-cold Bush administration's heart on the topic of Global Warming. What hundreds of scientists could not do even with their sophisticated illustrations and involved computations, the Polar Bear might achieve, after all, it is a symbolic beast that is currently fighting a losing battle against this generation's greatest challenge, Polar Ice demise. And if such a popular topic does not move the Bush administration into action, then I guess people clamoring for action will.
The Polar Bear will become the poster child (or cubs) of the fight against global climate change according to this article from LA Times and this one from the Seattle Times . With the Polar Bear now listed as an endangered species, what will the Bush do next? Acknowledge the need for more positive action against abrupt climate change, of course! What do you think?
