1500 MW of Solar Energy in Maryland

That is the target. By 2022, 1,500 MW of solar energy is envisioned for Maryland, putting it in the upper echelon of solar-supporting states in the US. Maryland is such a small state and this target is actually one half of that of California's! Thanks to bill H.B 1016/S.B. 595, Maryland's renewable portfolio standard pushes the state into a more ambitious but much welcomed renewable energy position.

I bet all those people who sent emails to their Representatives are grinning ear-to-ear. The legislation will require electricity supply to come from solar by 2009, increasing incrementally by 2 percent every year until 2022.

Hot! Hot! Hot!
